Height 9.7cm Width 6.7cm The pattern on this deck of cards was inspired by 9th century ancient Celtic manuscripts which would have been painted by monks onto vellum or calf skin. The three leafed shamrock was used by St. Patrick to explain the Holy Trinity when he brought Christianity to Ireland in the 5th Century A.D. and ever since, March 17th is celebrated as St. Patrick's day.
